New Technologies in Genome Analysis and Green Issues

On May 2nd and 3rd, 2024, Masaryk University hosted a comprehensive project training event for doctoral candidates involved in the Fantom Project. This intensive two-day program provided a unique platform for participants to explore the exciting intersection of genomics and environmental sustainability.

Led by a distinguished faculty comprised of Vojtěch Bystrý, Boris Tichý, Lukas Kenner, Isabella Ellinger, and Daniela Haluza, the training delved into critical areas of genome analysis and green laboratory practices. Sessions offered in-depth discussions on Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, covering library preparation, data analysis, and quality control methodologies. Additionally, the program addressed the ethical considerations surrounding the climate crisis, equipping participants with practical strategies for establishing environmentally sustainable research environments.
