Thanks to the FANTOM network the last November I had the opportunity to get access to the TUM facilities in Munich where, thanks to Professor Lena Illert and my FANTOM colleague Magdalena Kršic, I implemented 2 multiplex immunostaining (6 panel staining) to my ongoing research. Their expertise helped me to deepen my understanding of the immune activation effect of a new drug I’m currently testing. During the time in Munich we optimized the fluorophore staining panel and after staining was completed, we acquired the images on the Phenocycler Fusion 2.0 imaging system (Akoya Biosciences) that was present in-house. In this period I also expand my knowledge on the QuPath program to later analyse the data acquired and evaluating the general immune and specific T-cell profiles on the tissue samples from my previous experiment on immune-competent mice. Thanks to this opportunity I will be able to elucidate the specific immune response generated by the new drug I’m currently testing, with the hope to pave the road to overcome the resistance in ALKi treated patients.
