Advancing Cancer Research: Fellinger Krebsforschung Grant Awarded to Katarina Mišura

Katarina Mišura has been awarded the prestigious Fellinger Krebsforschung grant, a significant recognition of her promising work in cancer research. This competitive grant supports research that delves into the molecular mechanisms of malignant transformation, signal transduction, and therapeutic resistance, key challenges in oncology today.

Katarina’s project, titled “Epigenetics and drug resistance in ALK+ Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (ALCL),” focuses on understanding how epigenetic alterations contribute to drug resistance in ALK+ ALCL. By exploring how epigenetic drugs could reverse resistance, her research holds the potential to open up novel therapeutic strategies for patients affected by this aggressive lymphoma subtype. “As I approach the end of my second year of PhD, this grant comes at the perfect time to support and strengthen my research,” Katarina shared. “I’m incredibly grateful for this recognition, and for the invaluable mentorship of my supervisor, Prof. Gerda Egger.” This achievement marks an important milestone in Katarina’s scientific journey and highlights the impact of early-career researchers in driving forward innovative cancer therapies. We look forward to following the next steps in her work, and the insights it will bring to the field of epigenetics and oncology.
